'2010 Korea Leading Market Expo' Held in Busan

SMBA hosted the '2010 Korea Leading Market Expo' at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) for three days from Oct. 8~10. The Market Expo marked its seventh anniversary this year.

During the expo, which was held under the theme, "Changing Market Merchants, Evolving Market Culture" and managed by the Agency for National Market Administration, awards were presented to successful traditional markets and contributors, along with introduction of market activation achievements.

Amid the participation of eight culture & tourism-type markets for 2010, including excellent markets from 16 cities and provinces nationwide, the expo provided a venue enabling visitors to see the unique changes at traditional markets that introduced diverse marketing techniques and combined cultural and tourism elements at a glance.

For market merchants' better understanding of the government's market activation policy, SMBA explained its support policies at a seminar, while providing benchmarking opportunities through introduction of successful traditional markets in operation, public markets, overseas advanced market practices, etc.

Meanwhile, SMBA plans to develop the event into an expo offering an outdoor marketplace where visitors can taste the unique things to eat nationwide and enjoy things to see, as well as preparation of an indoor exhibition site with performances and experience programs.
